What to sell

How to sell Telegram channel access and run a Telegram shop bot

To sell Telegram channel access, keep the channel or group private, connect a bot that is an admin there, and send each paying buyer a single-use invite that only they can use. ShopFast does this after payment, ends access when the paid period runs out or the order is refunded, and can also run a Telegram shop bot where buyers browse, pay and get their products by DM.

Telegram is where a lot of paid communities already live: signal groups, private channels for creators, VIP rooms for customers of a product. A common way to run one is a pinned invite link and a spreadsheet of who paid, which leaks the moment someone forwards the link. There are two separate ways to make money on Telegram, and both are below: selling access to a private group or channel, and selling your products through a Telegram shop bot.

Channel or group: which are you selling?

Telegram has two main kinds of spaces, and buyers expect different things from each.

Channel Group
Who posts Admins only Every member
Feels like A private feed or newsletter A community or chat room
Good for Signals, drops, premium posts, early access Mentoring, peer support, VIP customer chats
Work for you Steady posting Moderation as well as posting

Both need to be private. A public channel has a username anyone can find, so there’s nothing to sell. Paid access works by keeping the space private and controlling who gets in.

How paid Telegram groups work with ShopFast

You connect your own bot (created with @BotFather) and make it an admin of your group or channel, with the rights to invite and ban users. After that, every sale runs on its own:

  1. A buyer pays for a product that has Telegram access added to it.
  2. They receive a single-use invite that only they can use. It expires after 24 hours by default.
  3. When their access ends, the bot removes them. Access can follow the option’s duration, a fixed number of days, or never end.
  4. A refund or a chargeback removes them too, and a chargeback you win gives access back.

Settings → Telegram lists every member and their status. Telegram access can be added to any product, so a buyer of a license key or a course download can get a private support group with the same purchase. Full setup is in the Telegram access guide.

Keep paid Telegram channel access from leaking

A shared invite link is the weak spot of many paid Telegram groups. One member posts it somewhere, and you’re running a free group with a few paying members. An invite that works once, for one person, closes that hole.

It can’t stop a member from copying or screenshotting what they see. Telegram offers settings that restrict forwarding and saving in groups and channels; check what your channel type supports in Telegram’s own settings. For content where leaks matter most, post it in a form that loses value when shared out of context, such as timely updates rather than evergreen files.

Run a private Telegram channel subscription

Paid channels usually run as subscriptions. Sell access as a membership, or as options such as 7 Days, 30 Days and Lifetime, each with its own price. Buyers can turn on auto-renew, which charges a saved card or PayPal account each period and retries a declined card (auto-renew). Buyers who pay with crypto get an emailed pay link for each new period instead.

On the product page, say what members get and how often: how many posts a week, at what times, in what language, and what the channel will never do (no guarantees of results, no private DMs from admins). Buyers who know what’s coming ask for fewer refunds, and a clear promise also tells the wrong buyers to stay away.

A common setup for a Telegram VIP group is a free public channel that shows what you do, with a paid private channel or group for the full version. Keep the free channel genuinely useful: it’s where people decide whether the paid one is worth it. For pricing periods and tiers, see how to sell subscriptions online.

Sell on Telegram with a shop bot

Paid access is one product. A Telegram shop bot sells all of them. Buyers browse your products and press Pay inside your bot, then pay through your store’s normal checkout, with Fraud Shield checks included. They prove their Telegram account from the order page and receive their keys and downloads by DM.

That suits stores whose buyers already talk to them on Telegram, such as key sellers with a Telegram community. The store, the products and the delivery are the same ones your website uses, so stock and orders stay in one place. If your community lives on Discord as well, the same store sells there too (how to sell on Discord).

Payments that suit Telegram buyers

If your buyers would rather pay in crypto, you can take BTC, LTC, ETH, USDC and USDT straight to your own wallet, with no processor fee and no ShopFast fee (crypto payments). Cards through Stripe or PayPal cover everyone else. See every option in payment methods for digital products.

Rules to check before you charge

  • Telegram’s terms. Telegram has its own terms of service for channels, groups and bots. Read the current version.
  • What you’re selling. If your VIP group gives trading or betting tips, check whether your country regulates paid advice of that kind. Adult content is not allowed on ShopFast in any form (what you can sell).
  • Refunds. Access can be removed, so refunds are easier to handle than for a download. Write a policy that says when you refund and how (buyer protection).

Step by step

  1. 1. Create a bot with @BotFather

Open @BotFather in Telegram, create a new bot and copy the token it gives you.

  2. 2. Connect the bot to your store

Paste the token into ShopFast so your store can create invites and manage members through the bot.

  3. 3. Make the bot an admin of your group or channel

Add the bot to your private group or channel as an admin with the rights to invite users and ban users.

  4. 4. Add Telegram access to a product

On the product, add Telegram access and choose how long it lasts: the option's duration, a fixed number of days, or forever.

  5. 5. Watch the member list

Settings → Telegram lists every member the bot manages and their status, so you can see who joined and who was removed.

Questions sellers ask

Can buyers share their Telegram invite link?

It won't work for anyone else. Each invite is single-use, only the buyer can use it, and it expires after 24 hours by default.

What happens when a Telegram subscription ends?

The member is removed when their access ends, whether that is set by the option's duration, a fixed number of days, or never for lifetime access.

What happens to access after a refund or chargeback?

Access is removed on a refund or a chargeback. If you win the chargeback, the buyer gets access back.

What rights does the bot need in my group or channel?

Make it an admin with the rights to invite users and to ban them. It needs the first to create invites and the second to remove members whose access ended.

Can I sell on Telegram without a website?

Yes. A Telegram shop bot lets buyers browse your products and pay from inside Telegram, and your store's shopfa.st address works as a link in your channel description.
